Memorial Middle School’s robotics teams earned second and third place trophies at the International SeaPerch Challenge! They also earned two fourth place finishes.
SeaPerch is an underwater robotics competition. The students apply engineering principles to build a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to complete an underwater obstacle course for speed and a mission course to pick up and place objects. They also complete a technical design report to explain how they worked through the engineering design process, how they applied scientific principles to their robots, and how they built and tested the different iterations of their ROVs.
The program at Memorial Middle School is led by Dr. Abraham Kamara. The students are:
Circuit Breakers 1:
Devin Fultz
Victoria Wright
AJ Fox
Yanixan Gamez Alcantar
Circuit Breakers 2:
Lee Broderick
Nancy Yanez
Astrid Corea
Circuit Breakers 1 placed 4th in the obstacle course. Circuit Breakers 2 placed 2nd in the obstacle course, 3rd in the mission course, and 4th overall.
