Oklahoma state testing is happening across the district from April 1-May 15.
Why does state testing matter?
For high school students:
- The ACT, CCRA Science, and US History state assessments are graduation requirements;
- Taking the ACT provides students with a free college reportable score;
- State assessment scores can help with concurrent enrollment and Tulsa Technology enrollment opportunities; and
- State tests measure how much students have learned and identify students’ strengths and growth areas.
For grades 3rd-8th:
- Assessment scores are listed and considered on magnet school applications.

Tips for preparing for state testing:
- Get a good night’s sleep
- Eat a balanced breakfast
- Arrive at school on time
- Read the test instructions carefully
- Pace yourself - don't rush through the questions
- Think positively! You can do this!
